What is Trailing?
You might have heard of Mantrailing or even Tracking/Trailing, well both of these are just another name used for Trailing.
Trailing is a sport where you work as a team (you & your dog) to follow a human trail to either find the hidden person or human scented articles. You learn to trust your dog and their natural scenting abilities all while having a great time!
Trailing doesn't just have to be done in the woods or fields, we spend a lot of time on hard surfaces such as industrial estates.
The main benefits for starting Trailing are:
-
Become a team with your dog
-
Enjoy something together
-
Give your dog a mental workshop (this means they get tired and can sleep for hours afterwards)
-
Provide an outlet for your dog, no matter if they are 'working' breeds, all dogs want to use their noses!
-
Meet other dog mad people!
These are just a few of the reasons to start!
Upcoming Workshops!

Trailing Introduction Workshop
Our introduction workshops are aimed to give you a taste of what Trailing is all about!
As a team you and your dog will have three trails over the workshop, and each dog will be worked individually so this is a brilliant sport for any dogs that struggle to be around other dogs, this also means that all dogs must spend time in their car/van so please make sure they are happy with this.
Any breed and age are welcome on these workshops as well!

Trailing Foundation's 4 week course
Join me for this 4 week Trailing Foundations course where I will cover the following;
-
Indication on Articles
-
Hard Surface Tracking/Trailing
-
Surface transitions
Although this course is aimed at beginner teams any level will still learn how to improve. Dogs will be worked one at a time which does mean dogs will need to stay in their vehicles between their turns.
